A meeting of the Berlin Board of Education was held in the Berlin High School library beginning at 6:00 p.m. Present for the meeting were Nicole Plourde, Kenneth Proulx, Lynn Moore, Louise Valliere, Corinne Cascadden, Bryan Lamirande, Gary Bisson, Julie King, Amy Huter, and member of the press.
MINUTES On a motion by Lynn Moore, seconded by Kenneth Proulx, the Board voted to approve the minutes of the June 20, 2013 and June 28, 2013 meetings, public sessions. The motion passed unanimously.
WARRANTS On a motion by Lynn Moore, seconded by Kenneth Proulx, the Board voted to approve the warrants dated, July 1, 2013, July 21, 2013, and July 22, 2013 for the amounts of $13,299.39, $36,258.52, and $458,773.65 respectively. On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.

HOT LUNCH PRICES On a motion by Lynn Moore, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to approve the following hot lunch prices for the 2013-2014 school year:
Breakfast - $1.50
Lunch 1-5 - $2.50
Lunch 6-12 - $2.75
Lunch Adult - $3.25
Milk - $.40
On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
BOARD EVALUATIONS The Board discussed the content of the Board evaluations.
SUPER’S REPORT None
COMMENTS The Press inquired who filled out the Board evaluations, she was informed that it was done by Board and the Administration.
NEW BUSINESS The Board welcomed Julie King as the new Principal at Hillside School.
The Superintendent discussed holding a special meeting on August 1st to approve new staff. Discussion ensued. The Board decided to hold a meeting on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at noon for staffing and another one on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 7:00 a.m. to approve new staff members and warrants.
NON PUBLIC The Board consensus was not to go into nonpublic session.
STAFFING On a motion by Kenneth Proulx, seconded by Lynn Moore, the Board voted to approve the following staff changes:

The motion passed unanimously, with Louise Valliere abstaining.
All nominations are contingent on the applicant passing a background check.
ADJOURN On a motion by Kenneth Proulx, seconded by Lynn Moore, the Board voted to adjourn it’s meeting at 6:31 p.m. The motion passed unanimously.
